Newest Bulletin Board!

After teaching a reading unit on fairy tales, we discussed the important aspects of a fairy tale and modeled what their fairy tale should look and sound like. At the end of our lesson the students wrote their own rough drafts! Their final copies were posted outside our room in our "castle"!

Unit on the Great Depression @ Poston Road Elementary 4th grade!

My co-teacher and I created integrative lessons on the Great Depression. We had the students participate in groups and create Tableau's (still pictures, motionless acting) describing a scene during this time. They had so much fun with it (seen in the 3rd picture)! When we tapped on their shoulder they gave a brief summary of what their part was and why it was important during the Great Depression. The first 2 pictures were our 'remembering' the Great Depression day where we dressed up as people from Hoovervilles during this era and gave the students old, torn and burned paper to write a reflection of the unit while they listened to music from this time.
